Virginia born low bassist Reginald Chapman is a classically trained Jazzman with a long list of studio credits and extensive touring itineraries with bands including Foxygen, The Mountain Goats, and No BS Brass, of which he is a founding member. Between completing a doctoral degree in jazz studies and touring internationally, Reginald recently released his debut album Prototype. According to Downbeat Magazine Prototype is "foundationally a jazz album that, with its brass- heavy push, recalls the second-line lineage of New Orleans, meshed with the funk-inspired grooves of 70s fusion." Reginald currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. and works in big bands (Darcy James Aruge, John Hollenbeck), brass bands (Hot Hand Band, Lucky Chops), and books his own excursions (Bone Apple Tea, Reginald Chapman Quartet). Chapman is an endorsee of Best American Craftsman (Mike Corrigan) and has proudly been on the ground floor in the development of their Bass Trombones and Bass Trumpets.
